I studied as an undergraduate with lectures from the author, Professor Ricketts so perhaps I'm allowed to be a little biased. I did turn to other conservatice dentistry texts while studying but this book is concise and comprehensive.

It gives a step by step guide to all of the more complex treatments patients require beyond basic fillings. The bulk of the book is devoted to the techniques of fixed prosthodontics: preparation, materials including ceramics , impressions, facial aesthetics etc. It's sad to see a book this good without any other reviews but I'd summarise and say just buy a copy.

If you're an undergraduate at a UK dental school you're unlikely to need another book on this topic and it'll be applicable to any dentist who just wants a refresher or works elsewhere.
